The Gift of Traveling

As I make my way back over the pond from a recent work stint in London, I’m reminded of the importance of widening one’s purview. Gaining broader perspectives – in food, in culture, in accents – does something for the brain.

I come home filled with renewed energy and an appreciation for doing things differently. Sometimes it takes a good step away from the life we live to see the beauty in what we have. I often find strolling new streets, eating new cuisine, talking to strangers and making new friends opens your spirit, your soul and your psyche. And it’s that openness that is your gift when you return. I always laugh though – how long does the gift last?

I for one, will be taking these last couple of weeks and drawing from them creativity, patience, open-mindedness and more for the work I do every day – and I’m determined to keep the “traveling gift” for as long as I can!
