Check It! – Stuff We Loved this Week

So the Emanation’s heart is aflutter (ahem “a-Twitter”) about lots of cool buzz-worthy stuff this week. A few of the highlights:

LL Cool J had it backwards. We’re not going back to Cali, rather Cali is coming to us. New Yorkers rejoice at getting their piece of the start-up business share as Silicon Valley migrates to the Big Apple.

Goldman Sachs pulls a smart one, and leverages the massive momentum behind the World Cup to their own PR advantage by releasing a study finding a correlation between a nation’s development and their global rankings by FIFA.

The trend of Smirnoff “icing” continues its whirlwind media tour with even more hefty coverage this week. A truly viral phenom or really just a well-executed marketing ploy? Regardless, the idea has reached what we’re calling “meme-eriffic” status.

Refreshing to see some of social media’s grander implications as the Military is using social networks – namely chatting and video feeds from drones -- to help combat terrorism.

Oh yeah, and a little known brand called – what is it again, Apple? – launched the latest iteration of the iPhone. Cue technology jealousy worldwide.
