List of Determinations

The Captivate poll in our elevator today asks riders to “Name a Resolution You’ve Ever Kept.” Although it’s practically a mandate for a new year, the word resolution reeks of failure. The Emanation refuses to entertain any of that for even a second so we offer a list of things we are determined to do. (Doesn’t that sound like a much bigger commitment?)

1) We have always taken pride in our brand of client service – we call it chivalrous – but this year we are determined to one up ourselves on this front. Our clients are likely to see many challenges so we will be more committed than ever to surprising and delighting them. This stretches from the big, visible initiatives like brilliant plans, flawless execution and stellar results to the smaller kindnesses that make the day a little brighter.

2) We are determined to make PR work harder for our clients. Whether that means relentlessly pushing for the best possible creative idea, working in lock step with other disciplines, being more efficient to make dollars stretch further or tracking ROI in more compelling ways, we’re on it. PR is a rock-star in tough economic climates and we plan to make sure that our clients enjoy more than their fair share of triumph.

3) We are determined to exploit the power of positive thought. This doesn’t mean blind or even inappropriate optimism but in times like these, we believe deeply in understanding stakeholders. Focusing on a clear message and having a reassuring, can-do voice goes far towards building preference.

4) We are determined to have more fun and celebrate the good stuff. As we enter into our fourth year as a business with so much talent, so many wonderful client relationships, and incredible growth and success to show for ourselves, we are going to cherish and preserve that spirit and sense of fun that makes the Emanation a truly unique place to work.

5) And finally, we would be remiss if we weren’t determined to eat more healthfully, drink slightly less, take vitamins every day and wear sunscreen -- even in the winter.
